How to Shop Smarter at Harris Teeter

Hey everyone! I don’t know if you know this, but my first job was at Harris Teeter. It taught me a lot as an employee in the work force. Besides the working aspect, I learned some tricks along the way to get the best deals + stretch your dollar. If you’d like to find out how to shop smarter at Harris Teeter, then keep on reading!

Become an eVic Member right now

If you don’t know what an e-VIC membership is, get ready to learn a thing or two. If you sign up for the VIC card in the store with your phone number, you do get a great amount of deals. BUT - if you sign up online and get the e-VIC membership, you will get online deals that aren’t advertised in the store.

Still don’t understand? Here’s an example: Pepsi products are advertised as full price on the shelf, but once you look at your e-VIC email/app, you can see that Pepsi products for e-VIC members is 2/$5. You get hidden deals because you went that extra step to sign up online & save on your groceries in the store.

According to the e-VIC section of their website, they mention that…

Once you sign up for e-VIC, it may take about a week for your request to be processed and your account to be activated.

Once activated, the
e-VIC coupons will be available to review when you click on the Weekly Specials link in your Wednesday and Friday e-VIC emails, and they can also be viewed when you login to your personalized Harris Teeter profile under your “My e-VIC Coupons” tab.

e-VIC Item of the Week

The e-VIC item of the week is available for e-VIC members only. The discount on this item is automatically taken at the register. No coupons to clip or carry! To be eligible for next week's offer, sign up for e-VIC today!

I made it even easier for you to sign up by following this link here

Remember that the ads reset overnight Tuesday to Wednesday

This means that Tuesday is the last day of that week's deals, and Wednesday is the start of the new deals.

So if you want to snag that week's deal which you've had an eye on, you better head on over before Wednesday!

Download the app for hidden deals!

So I didn't know how much I needed the app until I saw a customer in the store ordering their deli meat as they picked out their produce. How cool is that? Don't believe me? Check out these screenshots below:

Get your deli meat shaved…trust me

This is something I have done ever since I've seen my mother do it. I get my deli meat shaved. Why do you ask? A couple reasons actually:

  1. The thinness of the meat makes all my sandwiches look like they just came from the deli

  2. I feel like I get more bang for my buck when I get shaved deli meat

  3. Personally, I feel like shaved deli meat tastes better 🤷

Let me know if you end up getting your deli meat shaved after reading this!

BOGO Free means a lot more than you think

I know that some grocery stores make you get both items, in order for the BOGO offer to be valid. But Harris Teeter is the cool mom of all grocery stores, as you can get one of the items, and that item will be half off!

For example: if Sweet Hawaiian Rolls are BOGO free, you can get just one package of Hawaiian rolls for 50% off! I love that Harris Teeter let's their customers take advantage of this amazing deal. HT definitely keeps the customers wallet in mind when it comes to weekly deals.
