5 Things that Have Been Inspiring Me Lately

It feels so good to get back to blogging with a new wind of inspiration. It has been months of me battling myself with imposters syndrome, thinking that my blog was not good enough or not needed. When in fact, it is needed — by me. I love creating inspirational content that is available for anyone looking for inspiration on the topics I cover.

I want to be the voice that I needed to hear back in 2017 when life was extremely hard for me. And if one blog post I publish touches one person, that is enough for me. Of course, my ultimate life goal currently is to make blogging my full-time job, but that time will come when it is right.

In the meantime, I would love to share with you all what has been inspiring me lately, and some examples if readers are interested. I hope you all enjoy! And please comment below or on social media if you enjoy blog posts like this.

Fitness Inside & Outside the Gym

There are so many ways you can incorporate fitness not only in the gym, but outside of the gym as well. For example, you can incorporate the proper technique for not hurting your back with weight when you are getting a case of bottled water at the grocery store. Or, when doing regular daily tasks, remember to consciously breathe, and allow for your body to fully re-circulate air.

Another thing to note is to recognize your limits, in regard to weight and energy. There are days where I feel like my to-do list is longer than the hours in the day. In these situations, it is important to prioritize what is the most important thing to tackle. Just like working out in the gym — work out the muscle group that needs the most attention at that moment.

Apps to Assist with Everyday Life

I feel like if there is a way to make life simpler, you should use it! There are a couple of apps that I have been loving and can go into further detail about all of them if there is a request for it. The apps I love using to make my everyday life easier include:

  • Finch (self-care pet with reward system to get tasks done)

  • Notion (organizing life into manageable categories, like a digital database)

  • Whisk (recipe saver with auto-sort grocery list)

  • IFTTT (meaning if-this-then-that, one event triggers another. Example: if you post on Instagram, then that photo auto-posts to Pinterest)

  • Google Lens (able to verify text from physical paper, searching Google to identify real-life plants, etc.)

Using Kitchen Appliances in a New Way

It took a little bit of exploration with YouTube and Food Network, but I was able to see that I could use my kitchen appliances in a new, culinary way. I love using my Air Fryer and my Instant Pot, and since I use them weekly, I wanted to see how I could branch out from the functions I have already been using. Since I do not have a toaster or a toaster oven, I really enjoy making my toasted products on the Air Fry setting for 2-3 minutes. I also feel like instead of microwaving your pizza leftovers, you can use the Reheat setting for 2-3 minutes as well & you won’t get a soggy, reheated pizza.

Different Hair Styling Tips and Styles

As my hair was growing out my pixie cut, I had to get creative with how I styled my hair. Now that my hair is almost shoulder length, I have been using those short-hair style tips into my new, medium length hair. Some of those tips are:

  • using a flat iron to curl your hair

  • tiny elastics can help with small hairs near nape of the neck

  • hairspray can be applied before & after a heat tool is applied to style hair

  • utilize curled hair on Day 1 to put into a new hairstyle on Day 2

Intuitive Eating & My Relationship with Food

Have you ever heard of Intuitive Eating? From what I understand thanks to an article by Cedars-Sinai says:

Intuitive eating is about trusting your body to make food choices that feel good for you, without judging yourself or the influence of diet culture.

I am trying to listen to my body when it comes to eating meals & when I feel full. And intuitive eating isn’t just about food — it applies to water intake as well. There are some mornings that I am extremely parched & hungry, so it is important to listen to your body and nourish it when it needs it. I always have my water bottle by my side, and it is really handy to have when I feel like I need some cold water to calm me down.
