Places I Want to Visit Around Charlotte, NC

Hey, you! And welcome back to my blog!

I know it's been a while since I have posted a blog post here on Inspired by Diane, but I am back and hoping to post more regularly for your dose of inspiration in today's digital world. Today, we are covering some places that I want to explore around my "home city" of Charlotte, NC. Everyone says they live in Charlotte, but they actually live in the suburbs of Charlotte, as I do. We are going to cover places to visit for food, leisure & fun, and shopping. Let's get into it!

*there will be a shareable map at the end of this blog post if you want to visit these places yourself*

Places to Visit for Food

Simon Says Dip This in Durham

If a cold sweet tooth is your kind of thing, then you must visit this hand-dipped ice cream bar with some interesting food items to try out. Items like freeze-dried candies and half-pound stuffed cookies may tickle your fancy, but you also might be there for the main occasion that is the dipped ice cream. I think it is definitely worth the trip to get some good, creative ice cream.

Tipsy Taco in Charlotte

I am shocked at the number of taco restaurants around Charlotte, and this is one of two on my post today. Tipsy Taco, as you might have seen on TikTok, brag some great food items like margarita flights, sizzling fajitas, and the classic chips and queso/guac/salsa. I was surprised at how much I liked margaritas when I last got one, so I am excited to try the margarita flight here with some tacos on the side.

RuRu's Tacos & Tequila in Charlotte

Aesthetic is not left out at RuRu's Tacos & Tequilas, because the vibes with the outside bar and patio are immaculate. Don't forget, you can also try some tacos and quesadillas, along with bowls and cocktails with, of course, tequila. I definitely plan on taking some photos and getting tequila tipsy here with my girlfriends one day.

Nellie's Southern Kitchen in Belmont

Ever heard of Nellie's? Well, have you ever heard of The Jonas Brothers? This is the family restaurant filled with all the band memorabilia, better known as Nellie's Southern Kitchen. I love southern food, and of course not to forget The Jonas Brothers, so I would love to make a day trip to come and eat here — maybe take a picture or two.

FahrenheitCLT in Charlotte

Best known for the outdoor patio looking over the city skyline views, FahrenheitCLT has inventive new American cuisine, as well as craft cocktails, local breweries on tap, and a seasonal herb garden to explore. I love the pictures that people take here, and the food looks AMAZING. Especially the breakfast foods — which I would usually think of this place is more of a night hangout spot, rather than brunch.

MOA Korean BBQ & Bar in Charlotte

I have not visited a Korean BBQ place yet, so please let me know if there are other places I should visit! But from what I've seen, MOA Korean BBQ & Bar appears to be an elegant Korean BBQ where you can grill a multitude of meats. The meats range from a 45-day dry-aged prime ribeye to marinated beef bulgogi, this place has some great meat options. For the bar side of things, one of the things I want to try for sure is the soju!

Places to Visit for Leisure & Fun

DogWorld Dog Park in Kannapolis

I love dedicating time to my dogs, and this place seems like a dog's summer dreamland. DogWorld Dog Park has a doggy swimming pool, a mini pool (all pools filled with ball-pit balls), a water slide, and a lake to swim in — your dog has all the options for water time fun. I think the mini pool is a great introduction to a dog's first time there, and I would love to take my dogs here next summer for sure.

Pins Mechanical Company in Charlotte

This bar is not an ordinary bar. I know every bar says that, but this bar has arcade games, bowling lanes, giant beer pong, and more. I would love to go here with another couple. or maybe a girl’s night. This seems like such a fun place to go to mid-day or at night.

Camp North End in Charlotte

I have been to Camp North End once, and I cannot wait to go back to explore more. There are three different districts to explore among the 75 acres that this place has to brag about. There are so many things to explore and their Instagram (linked) shows a sneak peek of what they have to offer at their cool establishment.

Frankie's in Charlotte

Finally in the Leisure & Fun category is Frankie's, which I believe has multiple locations across North Carolina. Frankie's is a fun park with go-karting, bumper cars. mini golf, bowling, laser tag, and arcade games. I also believe this place has alcohol, so this seems like a great night activity for two or more people to get in on.

Places to Visit for Shopping

Local Deals Liquidation Store in Concord

I think there is more than meets the eye when it comes to this discount liquidation store. I believe that this store has Walmart products at great liquidation prices. If you are a treasure hunter for a good deal, this place is for you.

Nothing Major Market in Charlotte

If you are interested in shopping with some live music, alcohol, plants, and clothing to shop for, then Nothing Major Market is the place for you. This place reminds me of Camp North End, so I am eager to explore what it is like to shop there. The Nothing Major Market is located at The Music Yard at SouthBound.
