Date Ideas for Millennials

This post has been a long time coming, as so many of my friends wanted to know what Garrett & I do on our date nights. I've had so many examples up my sleeve, and now I get a chance to share these data ideas for you!

No matter if you are a millennial or not, these date ideas are fun & adventurous.

Support the local culture

Have you ever gotten to explore your city on date night? Whenever Garrett & I go out in our city, we love to visit hole-in-the-wall places that only the locals know about. It's so much fun to get pictures in these areas as well! Sometimes, we stop in on game/karaoke nights and specials are provided for food and drink. Double score!

Get your lovey to somewhere local, and enjoy everything your city has to offer.

Sit at the bar for once

You never see people socialize at the bar anymore, at least in my area. So what better to do than ordering some appetizers and sit at the bar? Even if it's a restaurant bar, food and drink are always a good idea. Garrett & I have gone to Red Robin countless times for date nights. All we do is sit at the bar, phones away, and casually talk about what happened that day. It's so nice to have that moment to just step away and take in what the atmosphere has to offer.

There's a certain social aspect around sitting at the bar; and if you're of age, I say do it on your next date night.

Find discount bowling

Whether it's a local bowling alley or part of a chain, there are typically one or two nights during the week with discounted bowling. We've seen an AMW Bowling location with $2.22 Tuesday's, which is a total steal!!

Depending on the bowling alley, the food is pretty good! Mix food/drinks/bowling together, and you got yourself a fun date night for two.

You can also make bowling a friendly competition and let the highest scorer buy the next round of drinks. Whatever your heart desires!

Indoor rock climbing is so worth it

If you have the opportunity to go to indoor rock climbing, you NEED to take it! It's an amazing bonding experience, as both parties rely on each other to get up and down the wall. Motivation and encouragement also help with the end result of the date, so make sure your partner knows you are there for them!

I think it's so much fun to look back on our old rock climbing photos, and remember how scared we were to go up the wall for the first time. It's the tiny things that can make you smile!

Groupon also has a lot of deals for sports dates like this, which you should check out ASAP.

Make something together

Crafting together is so much fun! These pieces can also go into your living space, giving that little reminder of your creative date. Give it a shot, and let each partner pitch their own date ideas!

If you don't want to go out to get creative, there are plenty of cheap craft ideas at Michael's, A.C. Moore...basically any craft store. Garrett & I have bought $1 stain glass ornaments and had a blast painting together during the holidays.

The crafting bug might not suit everyone, so just make sure to check with your partner about what piques their interest.

Escape rooms are the way to go

Have you ever heard of an escape room, or tried to finish one yourself?

They are so much fun to do in a couple, or as a group. There's just something invigorating about having a room full of puzzles to solve, and only one way to get out.

If you get the chance to do an escape room with a loved one or a couple of friends, I highly suggest that you do - the experiences you get back are priceless.

Well, there you have it! What date ideas sounded interesting to you?

Do you believe that these date ideas can apply to those other than millennials?

Let me know in the comments what you think!
