Shopping around the holidays is hard enough, but what about decorating your home? You can't really afford to spend an extravagant amount of money on home decor, so how can you get around it?

Dollar Stores are Your Best Friend

Have you ever shopped at a dollar store adjacent store during the holidays? I don’t know if you noticed, but they have amazing decorations when it comes to the holidays - especially Christmas. Whether it be ornaments, garland, window decorations or tree decorations, dollar stores got your back this season. There are also amazing storage bins available at the dollar store for your holiday baked goods and leftovers from the family dinners you’ll be having this holiday.

Venture to the craft store for DIY decorations

Sometimes it is true, that decorations are cheaper if you make them yourself. Around the holidays, craft stores hold huge sales that will save you big bucks when it comes to the register. Some ideas I’ve heard people do are painting the unpainted Nutcracker dolls that craft stores have. Imagine how creative you could be with these little dolls! Personalize it to a sports team, favorite colors, memories, songs, an impersonation of the person you are giving it to…the list could go on and on.

Target Dollar Spot is NO JOKE

I decorated my desk space at work with Christmas decorations I found in the Target Dollar Spot, and it looks so gosh darn adorable. I was able to snag up a 1’ tall teal Christmas tree, some adorable window clings, a sign that allows you to change out the saying 4x, and some lights that just screamed the holidays. There are also very affordable Christmas lights (affordable being $3) in the holiday section, located in the back of Target (trust me, I’ve worked there before).
