My 2023 Vision Board Process

As the year comes to an end, and a new year looms around the corner, one can become quite pensive about their life. You could be reflecting on the past 365 days and see how different things were, or you could be envisioning what life would look like at the end of 2023.

This blog post was inspired by my vision board process from 2022 but making it extra. And what do I mean by that? Well…last year I broke up my vision board into a few categories & composed one vision board. This year?

I magnified each category, made a vision board for each, and then put all of those vision boards into one, mega vision board. I actually really enjoyed making my vision board for this year, and I wanted to break down my process for you all in this blog post.

Brainstorm Categories Pertaining to You

This is not your partners’ vision board, your mom’s or your sister’s — this is for YOU. So, pick categories that make sense for your life. I will first share what categories I chose for myself, and then I will share some categories that make spark some inspiration for you.

My Categories:

  • House

  • Physical / Personal

  • Mental / Emotional

  • Love

  • Blogging

  • Career

  • Financial

  • Friends

  • Hobbies

Categories you may relate to:

  • Dating Life

  • Home Life

  • Organization

  • Gardening

  • Physical / Fitness

  • Moving

  • Personal Life

  • Family Life

  • Reading

  • Mental

  • Emotional

  • Financial

  • Career

  • Hobbies

  • Freelancing

  • Traveling

One thing to also consider is the year before, and how your life shifts as the year passes. Maybe a category like traveling was important in 2022, but not in 2023. Make sure to do an internal deep dive and really figure out what categories in your life you want to centralize on this year and manifest the things that you want to make true.

Putting It All into the Big Picture!

This might be my favorite part, because now we get to bring this new life you want to achieve into a physical & visible way. You can make your actual vision board physical or digital. I prefer digital, so I can change things easier, as well as having the access to the vision board on multiple devices.

I have some recommendations for ways you can digitalize your vision board. But please, feel free to make your vision board in a way that inspires you.

I created my vision board on Canva, and I was able to use the photo tool within Canva, as well as Pinterest and Unsplash to get the photos needed to complete my vision. The best suggestion I have when it comes to searching for your photos is to funnel down the words you use to search for your desired photo.

Some search terms that worked for me were:

  • Date Night Vision Board

  • 2023 Vision Board

  • 2023 Inspiration

  • Finance Goals

  • Fitness Goals

  • Fitness Inspiration

  • Friendship Goals

  • Painting Vision Board

After you get your photos & clipart for your vision board, it’s time to format it digitally! You can either use a photo grid, or you can choose the size of the photo and you decide if the photo deserves more or less room on your vision board. I used a grid, as it was easier for me, and I didn’t have to worry too much about layering the photos. But you do you, boo! Make it into your big picture. It is your life, after all.

If you want a template for your 2023 vision board…

I made a Canva template available right here for free, so you all can make mega vision boards like me. We can get inspired through 2023, together!

Here are some other ways to make vision boards outside of Canva:

  • PicMonkey

  • Graphionica (app)

  • Any collage maker app

  • Scrapbooking physical materials (stickers, paper, clip art, etc.)

Now it is time to reveal my 2023 VISION BOARD!
